There is a side of Virginia that you haven’t yet experienced, and you may not understand the hype. Well, this is your invitation my friend. Come sample the horse obsessed lifestyle at the 68th Virginia Fall Races, smack dab in the middle of Virginia’s lush hunt country. Experience outdoor family fun during one of the most historically favorable climates in Virginia.
Racing highlights include the running of the feature race of the day, the National Sporting Library & Museum timber classic. Along with a full card of racing, spectators are encouraged to come early as they will get a taste of fox hunting as the finals of the Field Hunter Championships are right on the race course at 9:00 am.
Glenwood Park, established in 1911, houses Virginia’s oldest running race course inside its 112 acres. Few tracks offer equal beauty and history. Shop in the vendor village and let the kids ride ponies after exploring the petting zoo.
Leave the tents, pop ups, and puppies at home. (But you may want to have an umbrella in the car. Just sayin. 😉
